Award-Winning Content Creation Services for the 3D Industry

PORTLAND, Ore.
May 20, 2022

At Liaison, our core is 3D technology. In practical terms, that means things like blockbuster visual effects or the emerging “Metaverse.” While you may not have heard of our agency, our clients’ work — and our work for them — has likely touched your life.

Our clients run the gamut, from entertainment to architecture, but it all comes back to the same 3D tech that makes the magic happen. It’s dense, and it can be hard to grasp. But if there’s one thing we do best, it’s making the complex accessible.

We help our clients find and articulate their place in the world, and we’re masters at getting to the underlying “what’s in it for me?” idea that makes campaigns soar. It’s a skillset that’s paid off. We’ve worked in this industry for over 20 years and now, as powerful companies like Facebook shift their focus to 3D, we’re excited to see the rest of the world catch up.

In the past year alone, we’ve signed 3D giants like Epic Games, Autodesk, and Shutterstock/TurboSquid. Our team has more than doubled in size, expanding beyond PR to include digital strategists, social media experts, content & graphics creators, and SEO specialists. We have brought home multiple awards, including PR Daily’s Boutique Agency of the Year, an AVA Digital Award for Social Video, and a Communicator Award for Website Copy/Writing. From blogs to newsletters to ad copy, we’ve proven capable of handling any task. Here are just a few examples:

Web Copy

Epic Games is perhaps the most powerful force in the real-time revolution. In the past year, we’ve developed web copy for many central pages of Epic’s Unreal Engine website, as well as explainers for their blog on topics like “What is an Environment Artist” and guides like “How to Teach Virtual Production.” In addition, we wrote ad copy for the viral MetaHuman Creator project.

Thought Leadership

Ncam has long been a pioneer in the virtual production technology space, but since the release of The Mandalorian, a virtual production race has begun as players seek to improve the workflow. To secure their position as the industry authority, we built a campaign that connected products to thought leadership. In 2021, we’ve ghostwritten a number of op-eds on topics ranging from how virtual production will change broadcasting to whether the esports bubble is about to burst. This has led to several Q&A requests from press and successfully positioned Ncam as the company others look to when they ask, “Where is this industry heading next?”

Press & Brand Strategy

Despite putting out consistently amazing work, Digital Domain, one of the world’s biggest visual effects houses, wasn’t getting as much attention as their competitors. So, we started crafting stories to highlight their incredible work, from recreating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in VR (in partnership with his family and TIME) to aging David Beckham for a malaria awareness campaign. On the VFX side, we wrote and distributed press releases for their work on Morbius, Apex Legends, Spider-Man: No Way Home, WandaVision, Black Widow, Loki, Free Guy, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, including targeted pitches and interviews. We’ve secured coverage in The Verge, Newsweek, IndieWire, Screen Rant, Digital Trends, and countless industry verticals, including online pieces, print coverage and video segments.

Social & Paid Social

When a local company came to us for help with social media, we set the ambitious goal of introducing the Portland metro area to a new community through a robust organic & paid social campaign, including a series of Facebook Live videos, highlighting everything from eye-catching 3D renderings to a branded VR bike ride. In the first year, we saw a 60% increase in followers, a 65% increase in engagement, and 145% increase in reach and impressions — plus an AVA Digital Award for Social Videos.

Through all of this, we’ve stayed true to our PR roots, centering messaging as our guiding force, regardless of medium. In practice, this has translated into not just signing new leads, but helping our current clients grow as they realize how much we can offer. Our approach is unique in the industry, and we’re excited to keep shepherding clients through this space, helping the 3D industry show off what it’s capable of. Next stop, Metaverse!
