Today, Chaos Group, a world leader in computer graphics technology, and CL3VER, an award-winning Barcelona-based start-up, announced a strategic partnership, aimed at building the world’s most powerful interactive 3D visualization and communication platform for the AEC and design industries. To support the partnership, Chaos Group has invested €2 million in CL3VER, which is set to debut a new line of real-time mobile, web and VR applications next spring.

CL3VER’s cloud-based tools can turn designs into interactive 3D presentations that help users speed up projects, improve collaboration and shorten the customer feedback loop. The partnership’s first mission will be to connect V-Ray, an industry-standard rendering technology used by 92 of the top 100 architecture firms, to CL3VER’s interactive presentation platform. With V-Ray rendering on board, the presentations will become even more realistic, enabling faster design decisions and better visualizations.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the new era of AEC storytelling,” said Viktor Nordstrom, founder and CEO of CL3VER. “Together, Chaos Group and CL3VER will introduce a platform that puts two essential tools in one place, so designs can be presented and shared in their best form, at any stage of the process.”

Presentations have traditionally been a time-consuming part of the AEC project lifecycle, from the first conceptual designs through facilities management. While tools are available, they are often disconnected, making it a challenge to share work with others. A joint platform will remove this hurdle, bridging V-Ray’s visualization capabilities with CL3VER’s intuitive communication tools, so architects can access strong, compelling visuals on any browser or mobile device.

CL3VER’s first connection into V-Ray will be the new V-Ray 3 for Revit, a link that debuted as a demo at AIA 2016. VR compatibility is coming soon.

“What CL3VER has done for architects is really exciting,” said Peter Mitev, CEO of Chaos Group. “A simple way to communicate and share your design has been a big challenge for a long time. We look forward to helping them solve it.”
