Today, Chaos launches Chaos Anima 6, introducing the first complete traffic simulation system for architectural visualization. Visualization teams can now direct realistic traffic in their designs using ready-to-use vehicles. Combined with Anima’s robust human library, believable traffic flow is now only a couple of clicks away.

“Even though traffic is such an integral part of our daily lives, archviz teams have never had an easy way to depict it,” said Diego Gadler, creator of Chaos Anima. “Now, they can just point, click and drag out routes in seconds, enabling realistic car and pedestrian traffic that would have been time prohibitive to do before.”

The new traffic system in Chaos Anima (previously Anima ALL) allows visualization artists to rapidly populate scenes with hundreds of animated vehicles that can obey real-world traffic rules and believably interact with pedestrians. The system will also automatically manage the flow of traffic at intersections, ensuring seamless movement while providing vehicle dynamics and safe driving with exceptional realism — capturing everything from a vehicle’s suspension and banking to taking turns and waiting for pedestrians.

Vehicles have been added to the Anima library, where they are employed in the same way as people models. This collection offers realistic vehicle behavior — including wheel spins, braking, cornering and more — as well as dynamic responses to terrain features like slopes and bumps, enhancing both accuracy and immersion. Vehicle colors can be automatically cycled through presets for rapid variation or customized when precision is required.

“We use Anima in all of our animation projects, and we’re very excited about what the new version brings,” said Francesco Testa, Co-founder at Prompt Studio. “If the new vehicle simulation system is anything like their people simulation tool, it’s going to be a game changer for animation production in the archviz industry — making Anima even more essential to our workflow.”

Anima 6 also introduces a new graphics engine designed for significantly improved performance in large-scale simulations. This upgrade allows for more simultaneous characters and a higher volume of vehicles in real time, making it easier and more efficient to create complex animated scenes with crowd simulations, characters and vehicles.

The Anima character library collection now exceeds 4,000 assets with more than 200 new models added over the past months. It features a wide range of ethnicities, professions and clothing options, and new options are continually added. The collection allows teams to add extremely convincing animated people that walk, run, laugh and move within their scenes, giving projects a realistic quality that immerses viewers in a design.
