Liaison was given three months to hook investors, secure press, and get a startup ready for a post-stealth reveal. A tall order, perhaps, but we jumped right in.

For years, Avalon Holographics has been creating one-of-a-kind displays, quietly building a foundation that could put holograms into every home and office on the planet. When we met, they were riding high on a new breakthrough that wasn’t just a first for the industry, but a major competitive advantage Avalon could tout to investors during their next $50M funding round. They just needed to make the right first impression.

Working with Avalon’s VC advisors, Liaison created a strategic brand refresh covering PR, social, content marketing, and SEO that would not only target their immediate concerns — awareness and brand building — but elevate touchpoints that didn’t cast them in the best light.

We started with the essentials:

  • Messaging workshop
  • Media training
  • SEO/social audits
  • Website redesign

This rapid boot camp whipped the whole endeavor into shape, honing Avalon for the big event: a week of exclusive demos in San Francisco. While holograms are a staple of sci-fi and endlessly interesting to people like us, they are not typically written about by mainstream outlets. Liaison, however, was able to make the most of our new messaging, booking exclusive meetings with VentureBeat, Upstarts, The Wall Street Journal, and CNET. Not only did this give Avalon a chance to start building important relationships, it yielded several positive stories in places investors track.

To maintain momentum, Liaison then:

  • Managed Avalon’s LinkedIn, increasing page views by the thousands
  • Created explainer blogs to support sales and get on the front page of Google
  • Secured podcast slots for CEO, Wally Haas
  • Produced sponsored content for VentureBeat and Forbes

Today, Avalon is being courted by several Fortune 50 companies and working hard on the next generation of holographic technology that will change all of our lives.

“We feel so fortunate to have partnered with Liaison. From the moment they came on board, they immersed themselves in our world with remarkable depth and care. Their thoughtfulness, strategic insight, and creativity have been invaluable throughout our journey.”
